The Italians actually elected this fucking man.
Again!!!Dear heavens, will nobody stand in his way?
(meanwhile, Naples disappears under a pile of garbage)
I'm trying to say what I think and feel without becoming really offensive, but it's not working. I cannot find the polite words to express my opinion on the man and his politics.
He's building himself
immunity from the law.
Separation of powers, what a laugh. It's what one would expect from a corrupt third world country leader...
And then there is this, lately, which is really beyond the pale: the persecution of the Roma people - they are actually going to
treat the children like criminals as well??!!Berlusconi claims such concern for the welfare of the Roma children, and maybe people would buy it if they had not heard the anti-Roma rhetoric that's been inviting (successfully) attacks on the Roma people lately, if they were unaware of
what's been happening lately:
evictions, attacks, shocking behaviour.
It's
persecution, pure and simple.
And you know what, I really believe that if you scratch deep enough, there will be many people all over Europe nodding their heads at this behaviour.
You know, the Roma have a
long history in Europe, they belong here.
They are probably the most disadvantaged group of people in Europe right now, the shame of the continent. Or, they
should be.
This is not the Europe of Brussels but it's
Europe all the same.
And my own government who so eagerly shakes a disapproving finger at various corners of the world, i wonder what they will say about this.
The other Euro countries, will they squeak, perhaps?
Who am I kidding, I know the answer.
Nothing. Not a
word.
We will not rear up as one person and shout "NO!!!", we will pretend like the three monkeys to see, hear, speak no evil till it's all done.
And then, perhaps, we will build a monument.
